Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Testing dip tanks, impregnants, production slurries
• Performing laboratory analyses
• Preparation and application of coatings
• Preparation of production materials
• L.O.I.’s on mixes
• Modulus of rupture
• Raw material receiving, identification and sampling
• Sending samples out for outside analysis
• Thermal expansion testing
• Porosity, absorption, and density testing
• Maintain test data run charts and databases
• Additional assignments by Materials Manager
  
  

Minimum Job Specifications

• Demonstrate the ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions
• Demonstrate the ability to use both liquid and dry measuring devices (i.e. scale and graduated cylinder)
• Record-keeping skills
• Ability to use calipers and micrometers
• Maintaining traceability
• A positive attitude
• Great attendance
  
  

Organization Relationships

The Laboratory Technician reports directly to the Materials Manager

Job Requirements

• Must be able to read instructions and also apply basic mathematical skills
• High School Diploma required.
• Excellent handwriting
