Position Overview
The Director of Construction will lead and oversee all phases of commercial construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate is an experienced construction leader with strong communication, financial management, and team-building skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for all commercial construction operations.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality expectations.
- Oversee project managers, superintendents, and field staff; develop talent and build high-performing teams.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on long-term planning, resource allocation, and business growth initiatives.
- Lead pre-construction efforts including budgeting, estimating, and constructability reviews.
- Establish and enforce safety protocols, ensuring compliance with OSHA and company standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Approve project schedules, budgets, contract documents, and change orders.
- Monitor project performance metrics and implement improvements to increase efficiency and profitability.
- Resolve complex issues related to project execution, design conflicts, or field operations.
Required Qualifications
- 8 years of commercial construction experience with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Minimum 3–5 years in a supervisory, management, or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of commercial building systems, methods, and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale projects and multiple project teams.
- Proficiency with construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, etc.).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving abilities.
Salary : $135,000 - $185,000
