Job Summary
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Radiologic Technologist, where you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services. You will operate advanced imaging equipment to produce clear and precise images that assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients across a variety of clinical settings, including emergency rooms, urgent care centers, and specialized trauma centers. Your expertise in medical imaging, combined with your knowledge of anatomy and physiology, will ensure accurate assessments and contribute to optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures such as X-ray, CT scans, PET scans, mammography, DEXA scans, sonography, and nuclear medicine studies with precision and attention to detail.
- Ensure the safety of patients by adhering strictly to aseptic techniques and radiation safety protocols during all procedures.
- Prepare patients for imaging exams by explaining procedures clearly, positioning them correctly, and addressing any concerns to ensure comfort and cooperation.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to evaluate diagnostic images for quality and accuracy, facilitating prompt diagnosis.
- Maintain detailed documentation of procedures performed, patient information, and technical data in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Assist in emergency situations within Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers by providing rapid diagnostic imaging support in urgent care or emergency room settings.
- Stay current with advancements in medical imaging technology and techniques to enhance diagnostic capabilities across diverse modalities such as MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), CT (Computed Tomography), PET (Positron Emission Tomography), and ultrasound.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating various medical imaging equipment including X-ray machines, CT scanners, PET scanners, mammography units, DEXA scanners, ultrasound devices, and nuclear medicine systems.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic radiology principles necessary for accurate image acquisition and interpretation.
- Prior experience working in emergency medicine environments or Level I/II trauma centers is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques and infection control standards essential for patient safety during invasive or sterile procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced settings such as urgent care clinics or emergency rooms while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Certification or licensure as required by state or national regulatory bodies for radiologic technologists; ongoing professional development preferred.
