This role involves identifying new business opportunities, managing existing accounts, and delivering exceptional customer service to clients in industries such as oil & gas, chemical processing, power generation, and water treatment.
Outside Sales Representative Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and expand new business opportunities for automation and control valve solutions within assigned regions and industries.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with both new and existing clients.
- Conduct market research to understand customer needs, competitor offerings, and market trends.
- Present and demonstrate automation and valve solutions, tailoring offerings to meet specific application requirements.
- Consistently meet and exceed sales targets, ensuring revenue growth and market expansion.
- Develop a strong understanding of control valves, actuators, sensors, and automation solutions.
- Provide technical recommendations to customers based on their application needs.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to address technical inquiries and develop tailored solutions for complex customer challenges.
- Prepare and present sales proposals, quotations, and contracts to customers.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and contracts to effectively close sales.
- Ensure timely follow-up on all leads, quotations, and projects to drive business growth.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, delivering outstanding customer service throughout the sales process.
- Assist with post-sale support, including troubleshooting and product performance evaluation.
- Conduct site visits to assess customer needs and gather feedback.
- Work closely with internal teams such as engineering, project management, and customer support to ensure client satisfaction.
- Provide regular sales forecasts, reports, and market insights to management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience will be considered).
- 3-5 years of sales experience in automation, control systems, or valve technology.
- Industry experience in oil & gas, power generation, water treatment, or chemical processing is a plus.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing customer accounts.
- Strong understanding of control valves, actuators, and industrial automation.
- Familiarity with valve selection, sizing, and process control applications.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and customer relationships simultaneously.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently as well as within a team.
