Responsibilities
- Develop and review electrical schematics, layouts, and system drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Support the full lifecycle of electrical systems from conceptual design through construction and commissioning phases.
- Coordinate with production teams to ensure electrical designs are manufacturable and practical for construction.
- Review vendor drawings to confirm alignment with project specifications and industry standards.
- Assist in developing build strategies, module breakdowns, and installation planning to optimize construction workflows.
- Provide field support during vessel construction and commissioning to address electrical system challenges.
- Review purchase orders and aid in procurement processes for electrical equipment, ensuring specifications are met.
- Ensure all electrical systems and components meet ABS, USCG, and pertinent industry standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Marine, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 to 15 years of maritime or shipyard electrical engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of shipboard electrical systems and design principles.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, ShipConstructor, or comparable design tools.
- Ability to interpret and apply ABS / USCG regulations effectively.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills, capable of working collaboratively across teams.
- Familiarity with machinery control and monitoring systems.
- Experience with power distribution and control systems.
- Knowledge of cable routing, penetration design, and system integration.
- Hands-on experience working directly with shipyard production teams.
