Responsibilities
- Install, commission, maintain, and troubleshoot automation and control systems at customer sites.
- Perform system start-up and commissioning activities, ensuring operational readiness.
- Diagnose complex control-system issues, implement corrective actions, and document technical findings.
- Lead or coordinate technical field activities, supporting vessel construction, modernization, maintenance, and offshore projects.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including test procedures, commissioning records, and service reports.
- Provide technical guidance and training to customers on automation systems and control interfaces.
- Collaborate with engineering, technical support, parts, and service teams to support project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Support control-system upgrades, modernization activities, and project planning.
- Offer after-hours or emergency technical support as needed, ensuring compliance with safety and maritime standards.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, ensuring adherence to safety, customer, and site-specific requirements.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in automation or control systems field service, commissioning, maintenance, or troubleshooting within marine or industrial environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and technical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple technical assignments, and lead field activities when required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience working directly with customers.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively, potentially up to 85%, including short-notice assignments.
- Capable of working aboard vessels, in shipyards, offshore, and industrial sites.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Controls Engineering, or a related field preferred; an Associate Degree with relevant experience may be considered.
- Prior experience leading small technical teams and supporting control-system upgrades is advantageous.
- Must be physically capable of working in offshore environments and completing safety training such as HUET or equivalent.
