Lead Field Service Engineer – Dynamic Positioning Systems Responsibilities
- Lead the installation and commissioning of automation and dynamic positioning (DP) systems at shipyards and on vessels during new construction projects.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues on-site, at sea, or during port visits, providing remote support as needed.
- Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including procedures for commissioning, maintenance, and training.
- Deliver technical training and support to customer teams to ensure proper system operation and maintenance.
- Serve as a technical project lead to ensure high-quality execution and customer satisfaction, identifying opportunities for additional services and system upgrades.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on upgrade projects and prepare comprehensive service reports.
- Work onboard vessels or in shipyards, adhering to strict safety protocols, with domestic and international travel (up to 85%) required.
- Support emergency and peak operational needs, including extended hours and overtime when necessary.
Lead Field Service Engineer – Dynamic Positioning Systems Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; alternatively, an associate’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience or a high school diploma/GED with 8 years of industry experience.
- Proven experience in marine automation and dynamic positioning systems.
- Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- Willing and able to travel extensively, often on short notice (up to 85%).
- Ability to board offshore vessels and complete offshore survival training such as HUET.
- U.S. Person status with the ability to obtain necessary security clearances for defense-related projects.
- Physically capable of working in offshore and shipyard environments, adhering to safety and environmental regulations.
