Electrical & Automation Engineer
Job Summary
This role will be responsible for all aspects of automation system design, including functional, physical, and electrical components in accordance with customer requirements. Designs will include electrical schematics of control consoles, remote I/O enclosures, generator controls, interconnect diagrams, functional diagrams, PLC programming, component selection and configuration, technical manuals, and test procedures. The Automation Systems Engineer will be expected to have extensive experience or be a subject matter expert and be willing to guide/mentor other engineers on staff.

Responsibilities
- Program PLCs to meet customer functional specifications while in accordance with industry standards such as IEC 61131
- Develop testing procedures for automation systems
- Perform factory acceptance testing with customer and regulatory body in attendance
- Work with QA, Production personnel, and Field Technicians concerning automation systems
- Ability to work with suppliers on function of system for components selection
- Interpret customer specifications and drawings as they apply to our scope of supply
- Support Business Development with technical input and review into proposals for potential new business
- Interface with customers, sales, and field installation services personnel
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an accredited university, college, technical school or have ability to demonstrate adequate experience
- Familiarity with Regulatory bodies such as ABS, USCG, DNV, NEC, etc.
- Experience programming PLCs (such as Siemens, Rockwell, etc.)
- Experience designing HMI screens (such as Wonderware, WinCC, FactoryTalk, etc.)
- Knowledge of software configuration control
- Experience with design of electrical schematics of control circuits and interconnect diagrams
- Ability to handled projects from conception to completion, including commissioning and after sale support
- Experience using AutoCad
- 5 years of Automation Systems experience is key
