We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic DP Systems Offshore Engineering Manager to lead our engineering efforts in dynamic positioning (DP), marine automation, and power management systems. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to oversee a talented engineering team, serve as the technical authority for system design and integration, and drive innovation across offshore and marine applications.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage engineering activities related to DP systems (Class 1, 2, and 3), including design, integration, and system optimization.
- Provide technical leadership during commissioning, troubleshooting, and system performance improvement initiatives.
- Oversee engineering support for field operations, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), sea trials, and system validation.
- Act as a key technical interface with clients, shipyards, class societies (such as ABS, DNV, Lloyd’s), and internal stakeholders.
- Support the development and implementation of engineering standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Review and approve technical documentation, system designs, and engineering deliverables.
- Mentor and develop engineering staff, guiding them on complex systems and career growth.
- Collaborate with operations, field service, and project teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability, performance, and safety.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees are preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in marine or offshore engineering environments.
- Extensive experience with Dynamic Positioning (DP) systems, including commissioning, troubleshooting, and integration.
- Strong background in marine automation, power management systems (PMS), and control systems.
- Proven experience supporting FAT, SAT, FMEA/FMECA, and sea trials.
- Familiarity with classification societies and regulatory standards such as ABS, DNV, and IMO.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and manage engineering workflows effectively.
- Preferred experience with OEM systems (e.g., Kongsberg, Rolls-Royce) and field service or commissioning environments.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interface directly with clients and manage technical expectations.
- Willingness to travel as required for project support and field activities.
