Responsibilities
- Promote and uphold a strong safety culture by adhering to all safety guidelines.
- Perform lifecycle management for assigned vessels using ABS Nautical Systems Enterprise, including preventive and corrective maintenance, equipment hierarchy, alterations, and spare parts management.
- Ensure accurate data entry into ABS Nautical Systems software in compliance with contractual and internal standards.
- Generate and export reports from ABS Nautical Systems to fulfill contractual obligations and customer requests.
- Assist the Port Engineer in overseeing vessel maintenance and repair activities, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to schedule, prioritize, and monitor repairs, inspections, and maintenance tasks.
- Support the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs for vessels, machinery, and equipment.
- Assist with budgeting related to maintenance, repairs, and spare parts procurement.
- Conduct onboard inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and operational improvements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to minimize vessel downtime.
- Maintain detailed documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment conditions.
- Support company goals through additional duties as assigned.
- Adhere to the Integrated Management System (Quality, Environmental, and Safety) standards.
- During periods when the Lead Port Engineer is unavailable, assume supervisory responsibilities over the ship group, including oversight of crew and subcontractors.
- Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering, Naval/Marine Architecture, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 2 years sailing onboard commercial ocean-going vessels of at least 4,000 HP as Chief Engineer, First Assistant Engineer, or Second Assistant Engineer.
- At least 1 year of experience using computerized maintenance management systems, with a preference for ABS Nautical Systems (NS-E / NS-5).
- Proven ability in data entry, quality control, report generation, and vessel maintenance management.
- Strong proficiency in ABS Nautical Systems software, Microsoft Office Suite, and SharePoint.
- Knowledge of technical manuals, shipboard arrangements, machinery functions, repair techniques, and cost management.
