We help effectively match the right technology professional to their organization, recruiting for contract, contract-to-hire, and direct roles.Our client in Reston, VA has an immediate need for a Network Engineer Level 3 Please note that this is a 6-month contract to hire opportunity with our client and NOT with Core BTS.***Qualified candidates MUST be able to obtain a Security Clearance, and currently reside within driving distance of the job site (Herndon, VA)***Overview:The Network Administrator II role is to install, administer, and maintain company networks and related components to achieve high performance of the various business applications. This includes ensuring the availability of networking infrastructure, and developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the network environment. Where applicable, the Network Administrator II will assist in overseeing the physical security, integrity, and safety of the network infrastructure. Job Description:Strategy & Planning· Coordinate and participate in key process improvements as they relate to the network environment.· Participate in and support capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for networking systems.· Coordinate and collaborate with network engineering, business application, and database administration function to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of corporate networks to meet business demands.· Coordinate and participate in the design Virtual Private Network infrastructure to support vendor interconnection requirements in a secure manner.Acquisition & Deployment· Assist with research on network hardware, software, and protocols in support of procurement and development efforts.· Assist with Interaction with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services.· Support the deployment of workstations, network devices, servers, printers, scanners, firewalls, encryption systems, and all host security systems.Operational Management· Administer all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, wireless access points, and UPS.· Assist and administer and maintain telephone equipment, protocols and routing queues necessary to meet business needs.· Perform network, server and security audits, review logs for errors and trends, and ensure proper function of network infrastructure.· Recommend and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs.· Ensure network connectivity of all workstations.· Support organizational initiatives and goals by participating on project teams and delivering on network related requirements.· Check help desk database for entries on networking resource issues; prioritize and respond to help desk tickets as appropriate.Required Qualifications· Four year college diploma or university degree in the field of computer science preferred, or equivalent work experience· 7 – 10 years’ experience as a network administrator supporting LAN/WAN infrastructure preferred· Juniper Networks Certified Professional Enterprise Routing and Switching (JNCIS-ENT) preferred· Work experience of Cisco Security product line, ASA and Firepower etc.· Work experience with SD-WAN;· Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Collaboration/Voice and/or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Security
Salary : $55 - $60
