The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be a key strategic leader responsible for driving the financial vision, health, and growth trajectory of a fast-scaling diagnostics manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, execution-focused finance leader with a strong background in manufacturing finance, cost accounting, and capital markets, including IPO readiness and execution experience.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive financial strategy aligned with the company’s mission, growth targets, and long-term goals.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, Board, and investors on capital planning, risk management, and value creation strategies.
- Lead strategic financial planning, forecasting, and performance management across the enterprise.
- Establish financial and operational KPIs to drive data-driven decision-making.
IPO & Capital Markets Readiness
- Lead the company’s financial and operational readiness for an Initial Public Offering (IPO) or other liquidity events.
- Partner with legal, banking, and accounting advisors to manage all aspects of the IPO process, including due diligence, financial disclosures, and investor communications.
- Oversee the development of internal controls, financial reporting, and governance structures required for public company compliance (SOX readiness, SEC reporting, etc.).
- Build investor confidence and maintain transparent financial communications post-listing.
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Direct all aspects of accounting, reporting, treasury, and internal controls in accordance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes with precision and timeliness.
- Oversee the implementation of ERP and financial systems that support scalability and reporting accuracy.
- Drive improvements in cash flow management, working capital efficiency, and cost control.
Manufacturing & Cost Management
- Partner with operations to optimize manufacturing costs, supply chain spending, and inventory management.
- Develop robust cost accounting systems to improve visibility into production efficiency and profitability.
- Support capital expenditure planning for production scale-up and technology investments.
Capital Management & Fundraising
- Manage relationships with investors, lenders, and financial institutions to secure capital for growth.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning to support fundraising and strategic investments.
Compliance, Audit & Risk Management
- Ensure full compliance with accounting standards, tax obligations, and financial regulations.
- Lead internal and external audit processes, maintaining strong governance and internal controls.
- Establish risk management frameworks covering financial, operational, and compliance risks.
Leadership & Team Development
- Build and mentor a high-performing finance and accounting team capable of supporting a public company environment.
- Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement.
- Partner cross-functionally with R&D, Operations, and Commercial teams to align financial strategy with business objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Finance preferred.
Certification:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) – Required
Experience:
- 5–7 years of progressive financial leadership experience in manufacturing, diagnostics, biotechnology, or life sciences industries.
- Hands-on experience preparing for and/or executing an IPO or major liquidity event.
- Proven expertise in GAAP compliance, financial modeling, capital planning, and investor reporting.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory control, and manufacturing finance.
- Demonstrated success scaling financial systems and controls in a startup or high-growth environment.
