The Catering & Event Manager is responsible for the end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of all on-site events and culinary operations at the winery. This role is central to delivering exceptional guest experiences while maintaining operational excellence and strong team leadership.
We’re looking for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and can balance event logistics, culinary operations, staffing, and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Event Planning & Coordination
- Develop detailed event timelines, floor plans, and execution strategies
- Create comprehensive Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) outlining logistics, staffing, rentals, and culinary plans
- Conduct site walkthroughs to confirm setup and client expectations
- Coordinate décor, rentals, entertainment, and vendor services
- Ensure all permits, licenses, and compliance requirements are met
Event Execution & Guest Experience
- Serve as the on-site lead for all events, overseeing setup, service, and breakdown
- Monitor guest experience and proactively resolve issues
- Ensure events reflect CordeValle’s brand, ambiance, and hospitality standards
- Maintain a professional and visible presence as the primary operational contact
Culinary & Food Service Oversight
- Oversee all culinary operations related to events and on-site service
- Partner with culinary team on menu planning, quality control, and presentation
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
- Manage inventory of food, beverages, and catering supplies
- Optimize workflows, staffing efficiency, and service quality
Staff Management & Leadership
- Recruit, train, and supervise event and culinary staff
- Develop staffing plans based on event needs
- Lead pre-event briefings and provide real-time direction during events
- Conduct post-event evaluations to drive continuous improvement
Logistics & Operations
- Manage inventory of event equipment and rentals (linens, glassware, tables, etc.)
- Oversee setup, breakdown, and maintenance of event spaces
- Coordinate with facilities and grounds teams for outdoor events
- Ensure operational efficiency and adherence to budgets
Vendor & Internal Coordination
- Act as the main point of contact for external vendors
- Coordinate with florists, rental companies, entertainers, and other providers
- Collaborate with internal teams including tasting room, production, and operations
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations
- Enforce responsible alcohol service practices
- Maintain emergency preparedness and safety protocols
