The Social Activities Coordinator (SAC) will be responsible for developing, implementing, and promoting programs and events for members at the Club. The SAC will manage and oversee the rollout of creative and innovative educational and recreational activities while delivering exceptional experience to all age groups. Additional responsibilities include managing staff, and counselors on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will have a magnetic personality that brings creative and out-of-the-box ideas with a warm and welcoming personality. The SAC will work closely with other Club department leaders to cultivate synergy in a team-based organization. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations and F&B.


Essential Functions

A.      In conjunction with Membership Sales, performing new member connect 30, 60, 90 days after joining.

B.      Supervise the successful production and delivery of Member & Youth programming and events (i.e., Kids Club, Club events, Special events).

C.      Hire, train, supervise, schedule, and evaluate children’s program staff as needed.

D.      Partner with Social Committee to develop or enhance, implement, and supervise programming.

E.      Work with the Communication Coordinator to create new and exciting Youth Programs.

F.       Assemble the decorations and floral arrangements as needed for each Club event and weekly dining room use.

G.      Assist with maintaining Social Media platforms (i.e., Instagram, Facebook, etc.) and digital communications including current website, e-blasts, and event calendar.

H.      Prepare weekly activity reports as needed.

I.       Ongoing financial responsibilities, including but not limited to:

1.       Reviewing and ensuring accurate billing to Members.

2.       Produce break-even and actual profit & loss report for each event.

3.       Input for creation of programming budget.

4.       Develop multiple and diverse revenue-generating activities for Members and their children.

J.       Complete payroll timesheets for social activities staff.

K.      Perform all other tasks and projects assigned.


Qualifications

A.      Minimum of three years experience in event planning and recreation in a club or similar setting.

B.      Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) required.

C.      Valid CPR/AED/First Aid certifications required.

D.      Ability to exercise critical human relations skills in establishing and maintaining effective relationships with Members, their children.

E.      Ability to create and foster a positive teamwork environment.

F.       Excellent verbal, written, listening, and customer service skills.

Genuine enjoyment and passion for working with children and families

Knowledge of and ability to perform required role in emergency situations required.B.      Ability to work a varying schedule based on the Club’s needs required. This schedule includes nights, weekends, and holidays.


Work Environment

A.      Physical activity of this position.

1.       Climbing. Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion.

2.       Balancing. Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling and walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces. This factor is important if the amount of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium.

3.       Stooping. Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities and back muscles.

4.       Kneeling. Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.

5.       Crouching. Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.

6.       Crawling. Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.

7.       Reaching. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

8.       Standing. Particularly for sustained periods of time.

9.       Walking. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.

10.     Pushing. Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.

11.    Pulling. Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.

12.    Lifting. Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position- to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.

13.     Manual Dexterity. Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.

14.     Grasping. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.

15.     Feeling. Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.

16.     Talking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other employees accurately, loudly, or quickly.

17.     Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations sound.

18.     Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

B.      Physical requirements of this position.

Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the employee sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.

C.      Visual acuity requirements including color recognition, depth perception, and field vision.


The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.


D.      Conditions the employee will be subject to in this position.

1.       The employee is subject to environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.

2.       The employee is subject to outside environmental conditions. No effective protection from the weather.

3.       The employee is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.

4.       The employee is subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity.

5.       The employee is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
