Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies, ensuring a sterile environment following infection control protocols.
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with precision and care.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools, ensuring proper technique and patient comfort.
- Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like EagleSoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for confidentiality.
- Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions about dental terminology, and assisting with patient comfort and positioning.
- Monitor vital signs when necessary and maintain aseptic techniques to prevent infection in all clinical settings.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and coordinating with the dental reception team to optimize workflow.
Experience
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting duties.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Hands-on experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft
- Skilled in chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry to enhance efficiency during procedures.
- Certification or training in X-ray technology, infection control standards, and aseptic technique preferred.
