Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Part Time Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team. Duties
- Record and process journal entries using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms
- Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations to verify accuracy of financial data
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely payments and collections
- Process payroll accurately and efficiently, including tax calculations and deductions
- Maintain general ledger accounts in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and organizational policies
- Prepare financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
- Conduct account analysis and account reconciliation to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly
- Assist with governmental accounting requirements and non-profit accounting procedures as needed
- Support budgeting activities by tracking expenses against budgets and preparing variance reports
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and internal controls
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role, preferably part-time or flexible hours
- Strong proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, or comparable systems
- Demonstrated knowledge of corporate accounting, non-profit accounting, and governmental accounting practices
- Familiarity with financial concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation
- Experience processing payroll and managing accounts payable/receivable workflows
- Ability to work efficiently with spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) for data analysis and reporting
- Knowledge of GAAP standards and technical accounting principles
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to perform 10-key typing quickly and accurately
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
