Copper State Bolt & Nut Company is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Material Handler to join our Manufacturing team. In this role, you will play a critical part in keeping production running efficiently by ensuring materials are received, stored, staged, and delivered accurately to manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

• Safely load, unload, transport, and stage raw materials and finished products throughout the manufacturing facility.
• Supply production departments with materials to support manufacturing schedules and minimize downtime.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Receive incoming materials, verify quantities against packing slips, inspect for damage, and properly store inventory.
• Pick, stage, and deliver materials for manufacturing work orders.
• Return unused materials to inventory while maintaining inventory accuracy.
• Utilize RF scanners and inventory management systems to accurately record inventory transactions.
• Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Maintain organized storage areas with proper labeling and material identification.
• Complete inventory, receiving, and production documentation accurately and on time.
• Perform routine inspections of forklifts and material handling equipment and report maintenance concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by following 5S and housekeeping standards.
• Follow all company safety policies and promptly report unsafe conditions or incidents.
• Collaborate with production, warehouse, and manufacturing teams to ensure efficient material flow.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, accuracy, and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, or material handling environment preferred.
• Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or similar material handling equipment.
• Ability to accurately move, track, and organize inventory.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn inventory management systems.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and a strong commitment to workplace safety.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using RF scanners.
• Forklift certification (or ability to become certified).
• Experience with ERP or inventory management software.
• Experience supporting manufacturing or production operations.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or 5S principles.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift, move, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and lift throughout the workday.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to safely operate material handling equipment.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing facility and may involve exposure to varying temperatures, machinery, moving equipment, and moderate to high noise levels. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and required.

All positions require successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background check.

M-F, 6am - 2:30pm
