Lead the Engine That Keeps Customers Moving
We are seeking a highly driven Expediting Coordinator to lead the development of our expediting processes and coordinate the cross-functional efforts that keep critical orders moving. This role sits at the intersection of customer service, supply chain, production, operations, and problem-solving.
This is not a traditional customer service role. It is an command-center position for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, uses systems and data to solve problems, communicates with urgency and professionalism, and enjoys creating structure from complexity.
Summary
The Expediting Coordinator will own and continuously improve the processes used to expedite customer orders, inbound purchase orders, production orders, and internal transfers. This individual will coordinate across inside sales, purchasing, production, operations, and customer-facing teams to ensure critical orders are prioritized, tracked, communicated, and resolved quickly.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, technologically capable, analytical, and energized by operational urgency. They are comfortable managing large volumes of activity while maintaining exceptional communication with both internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers.
Responsibilities:
Operational Coordination & Expediting
- Monitor and prioritize urgent customer orders and supply chain exceptions
- Identify expedited actions across purchasing, production, warehouse, transportation, and branch operations
- Ensure high-priority orders receive proactive attention and follow-through
Process Development & Continuous Improvement
- Develop scalable expediting workflows and standard operating procedures
- Create metrics, dashboards, and reporting tools to improve visibility and accountability
- Improve responsiveness through automation, workflow optimization, and better system utilization
Systems & Technology
- Use ERP systems, reporting tools, spreadsheets, and operational software to track order activity
- Analyze large data sets to identify trends, delays, and opportunities for improvement
- Work with internal technology and operations teams to improve system workflows and visibility
- Leverage AI tools, reporting systems, and automation where appropriate
Customer & Internal Communication
- Provide clear, timely, and professional communication regarding order status and recovery plans
- Partner closely with sales and customer service teams on critical customer needs
- Escalate issues appropriately and drive resolution ownership
- Build trust through responsiveness, accuracy, and accountability
Preferred Experience
- Experience in operations, supply chain, purchasing, customer service, logistics, production coordination, or order management
- Experience working in high-volume transactional environments
- Experience using ERP systems and operational reporting tools
- Experience coordinating across multiple departments and stakeholders
Technical Skills
- Expert or high level Intermdiate at a minimum Excel and spreadsheet skills
- Ability to analyze operational data and identify trends
- Comfort learning and utilizing new software platforms quickly
- Experience with workflow management, automation, or reporting tools is highly desirable
- Familiarity with AI-assisted productivity tools is a plus
