Endoscopy Technicians enjoy a fast-paced environment and gain valuable medical experience by assisting physicians with both screening exams and procedures for digestive issues.
The Endoscopy Technician's scheduled start times vary, typically from 6:30 - 8:30 am. Dependable attendance and reliable transportation are a must.
Key duties
- Interacts with patients, welcoming, situating and preparing them for procedures. Physically positions patients and applies pressure to body as needed.
- Offers reassurance to and calms patients in high stress situations.
- Communicates clearly and respectfully to physicians and multi-disciplinary teammates.
- Directly assist physicians with endoscopic procedures: operate tools/equipment, collect specimens.
- Responsible for room set-up and turn over
- Upholds cleanliness standards by performing tasks such as emptying trash/linen, general cleaning, and strict adherence to infection control protocols.
- Responsible for the high-level disinfection of endoscopes
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Must be able to push a stretcher frequently throughout the day
- Must be able to lift and shift up to 40lbs frequently throughout the day
- Be positive and energetic
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (provided upon hire)
