What are the responsibilities and job description for the Speech Language Pathologist position at COOS BAY SD 9?
JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
Eligibility for One Time Bonus:
- employees must be newly hired licensed personnel who hold a valid TSPC license and are endorsed to teach or deliver services that fall under the IDEA; AND/ OR
- who are specialists (i.e. Speech Language Pathologists) and hold certification for practicing in the state of Oregon from a National Organization or other state credentialling programs (like ASHA) AND
- are newly hired by the district and actively working prior to September 15th of the 2025-2026 contract year.
Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist
The successful candidate will be able to provide or assist with identification, diagnostic, therapeutic and follow up services for speech, language and/or hearing impaired children. This includes direct instruction and therapy, parent and teacher counseling and training, utilization of support aides and related professional disciplines and the reporting of all services performed. Supervision of an SLPA may be required.
Qualifications:
- MA or MS Degree in Communication Disorders/Sciences
- Must be eligible for Oregon Teaching License with a Speech Impaired Endorsement or Oregon Board of Examiners Speech Pathology License
- Experience with public school services
- Ability to work as a team member
- Hold a valid first aid card, preferred
