Job Summary:
The Health Information Management (HIM) Manager will oversee the secure and confidential management and handling of all paper and/or electronic member records to ensure compliance with HIPAA Privacy and Security requirements. This role will supervise a team of HIM Specialists and Office Managers to ensure the proper releases are in place and manage access to member records including external document requests and member portal access.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides day-to-day supervision of HIM I Specialists when required
- Provides day-to-day supervision of Office Managers with respect to HIM functions assigned
- Oversee Care Management Support provided by Office Managers which may include the following: Planning location events, Ordering Supplies, Coordinating IT deliveries/pick ups
- Contact liaison between Office Managers and Facilities for location maintenance
- Scheduling and Timecards for Office Managers
- Internal Department quality reviews
- Assists with training of HIM Specialists and Office Managers
- Assists in planning, organizing, and executing the activities of the department.
- Assists in the monitoring and implementation of policies and procedures for Member Records.
- Provides support with Release of Information
- Able to perform all functions of HIM I, HIM II Specialists and Office Managers
- Complies with requirements of HIPAA, NYS OPWDD, NYS DOH and/or other accreditation entities with oversight authority for Member Records management in a CCO/HH environment.
- Works collaboratively with Care Management, Quality Assurance, and Compliance to provide input on Member Record policies and procedures.
- Provides support with the gathering of information related to audits and/or document reviews.
- Organized and able to meet deadlines.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
- Covers for Department Leadership as needed
- Located in the Utica Hub, must be on-site for staff support as required and travel to Life Plan CCO NY locations as required for staff support
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License from New York, or a contiguous state (i.e., Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Vermont) OR must have the ability to take ample public transportation to attend meetings in person in the community and in the office as needed.
Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or related field and 1 year of experience working in document management is required, or;

Associate’s degree in Health Information Management or related field and 2 years’ experience working in document management is required, or;

High School diploma/equivalency and 4 years’ experience working in document management

Prior experience working with Mfiles or Core Solutions CX360 platforms preferred

Proficiency with the use of excel and other software products used for tracking the flow of information

Excellent interpersonal communication organization and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Salary : $61,000 - $62,723
