Job Overview:
To perform secretarial duties as requested by physicians and department leaders.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of two years’ experience in medical setting, preferably a physician's office
Preferred:
- Medical Secretarial School Diploma or equivalent
Scheduling Requirements:
- Status: Full-Time (37.5 hrs.)
- Shift: Day
- Hours: 8:00am-4:00pm
Essential Functions:
- Secretary to the physicians and the department,
- Schedules physician time, books OR cases,
- Registers new patients in computer system,
- Schedules appointments, prepares patient correspondence, disability forms, etc.,
- Provides secretarial support for office hours,
- Burn office hours require extended working hours,
- Maintains medical records, types physician dictation and files all medical documents promptly in the patient chart.
- Acts as liaison with insurance companies and case managers, sending records as requested and obtaining authorization for office visits, admission and procedures,
- Monitors office supplies and orders replacements,
- Assists with other secretarial functions as needed,
