What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fleet Mechanic position at Cooperative Alliance for Seacoast Transportation?
COAST is seeking a skilled Full-Time Second Shift Mechanic to help keep our fleet safe on the road. COAST mechanics inspect, repair, and service our fleet both on-site and during road calls as needed.
Our fleet includes:
- 12 heavy-duty diesel buses
- 16 medium and light-duty gasoline-powered minibuses
- 4 accessible minivans
- 5 non-revenue service vehicles
This position plays an important role in keeping our fleet safe, reliable, and ready for service through routine preventive maintenance, accurate diagnostics, and quality repairs.
Schedule
Applicants must be willing to work assigned shift hours and days, typically Monday through Friday from 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM, and participate in the on-call rotation every other Saturday.
The ideal candidate will:
- Work cooperatively as part of the maintenance team.
- Possess the standard hand tools required to perform the job and have experience using them.
- Have strong communication skills.
- Have relevant experience troubleshooting and repairing diesel- and gasoline-powered vehicles.
- Hold a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake endorsement and a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate.
- A Passenger Endorsement is preferred. Applicants without one must obtain it within six months of hire.
