What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Advisor position at Cooper Riis?
Evening Residential Advisor - Full Time
Location: Asheville, NC
Pay: Starting 17.00 per hour per hour and increases based on experience
Schedule:
- Full time Position benefits and PTO/Sick time
- Evenings weekday and at least 1 day of the weekend
- 8 hours per shift
- Wednesdays - Saturdays
- W 1pm - 10 pm
- Th 4pm - 8pm
- Fri 4pm - 8pm
- Sa 1pm - 10pm
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plan and actively assist residents in their recovery process and attaining their goals
- Provide a positive evening experience and encourage participation in planned events
- Responds to any critical needs or crisis situations
- Provides documentation on each resident
- First responder for on call services throughout the night and may be awakened by a resident
Qualifications:
- An undergraduate degree in psychology, social work, or other directly related field preferred
- A valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build supportive relationships with residents
- Ability to communicate both written and orally
- Experience working with adults coping with mental health challenges or emotional distress preferred
- Ability to effectively handle crisis situations
