What are the responsibilities and job description for the Document Control Lead position at Cooper Machinery Services?
What You Will Do
- Develop, implement, and maintain document control standards, procedures, and governance practices.
- Support the organization’s ongoing initiative to digitize historical records and improve document accessibility
- Maintain documentation within SharePoint and other document management systems.
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Field Operations, and other departments to ensure accurate and timely document control.
- Develop and improve document control processes that increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Monitor document revisions and ensure version control across multiple business functions.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement solutions that strengthen document management processes.
Who You Are
- 5 years of experience in document control, records management, quality systems, project administration or related discipline.
- Previous leadership experience or demonstrated ability to lead projects.
- Strong working knowledge of SharePoint or similar electronic document management systems.
- Experience managing controlled documentation within construction, engineering, or technical project environments.
- Outstanding communication and customer service skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
- A continuous improvement mindset and willingness to identify better ways of working.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel
Preferred
- Experience supporting ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Knowledge of document retention requirements and records management best practices.
- Experience participating in document digitization or process improvement initiatives.
