Key Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing ingredients, sauces, vegetables, meats, baked goods, and other food items
- Support cooks and bakers with daily food preparation and production tasks
- Assemble and prepare menu items according to recipes and quality standards
- Follow portion, presentation, and food quality requirements
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently as trained
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked kitchen workstations
- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, equipment, and food preparation surfaces
- Restock ingredients, packaging, cleaning supplies, and kitchen materials
- Monitor food supplies and notify supervisors when items need replenishment
- Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing food and kitchen deliveries
- Package completed food orders accurately for service, pickup, or delivery
- Follow food safety, sanitation, hygiene, and workplace safety procedures
- Assist with opening, closing, and general kitchen duties
- Perform additional food preparation and kitchen support tasks assigned by management
Requirements
- Previous kitchen, restaurant, bakery, food service, or hospitality experience is an asset but not required
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and safe food handling
- Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and kitchen procedures
- Strong attention to cleanliness, accuracy, and food quality
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads safely
