Job Summary
Under general direction of a Forensic Technician Supervisor, performs duties related to the intake, autopsy, release, specimen/evidence preparation and toxicology analysis functions of the Medical Examiner in accordance with all applicable Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs).

- Possession of a High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) test certificate AND
- Four (4) years full-time work experience in a funeral home, morgue, body transport service, or Medical Examiner’s/coroner’s office is required.
- OR-
- Graduation from an accredited university or college with an Associate's Degree AND
- Two (2) years full-time work experience in a funeral home, morgue, body transport service, or Medical Examiner's/coroner's office is required.
- OR-
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science; Criminal Justice; or Forensic Science is required.
- Must work in a morgue environment which requires close proximity to deceased human remains and exposure to unpleasant sights, smells, blood and other body fluids.
- Must work rotating shifts to provide 24/7 coverage including holidays and weekends.

- This position requires various types of physical exertion, including, but not limited to pulling, pushing, standing, lifting and moving objects of moderate to heavy weight.
