Avionics Technician

Conway Aircraft is looking for a knowledgeable, experienced avionics technician to join our team. The responsibilities of the avionics technician include running cables, mounting antennas, connecting instruments for navigation and engine monitoring, and installing radios, autopilots, and passenger entertainment systems.

Essential Job Functions

· Troubleshoots, repairs, tests, removes and replaces avionics and instrument wiring and systems installed in various airframes using hand tools, test equipment, technical documents, and technical reference materials. Orders necessary parts to complete the job. Inspects components and aircraft systems as a QI as needed.

· Enter description of work completed on the work order and properly documents removal and installation of aircraft parts and components.

· Maintains and cleans line maintenance test equipment and work area as required. Operates ground support equipment as necessary.

· Attends factory and Company technical classes and participates in OJT to increase technical skills and proficiency. Maintains technical training log.

· Performs other duties as assigned by management.

· Interpret avionic/electrical wiring diagrams, wire identification, harness fabrication, wiring and cable integrity, coax cables and fittings and connector assemblies.

· Adjust, repair, or replace malfunctioning components or assemblies, using hand tools and soldering equipment.

· Install electrical and electronic components, assemblies, and systems in aircraft, using hand tools, power tools, and soldering equipment.

· Utilize technical knowledge of avionics and electrical and electronic systems in determining equipment malfunctions and apply the required expertise in restoring equipment condition and/or operation.

· Fabrication and troubleshooting of wire harnesses.

· Function testing of avionics and electrical systems.

· Remove and replace components and perform functional checks of these components.

· Maintain, repair, install, and troubleshoot various types of avionic, electrical, and electronic systems and equipment and related devices using common and specialized test equipment.

· Able to communicate effectively and cordially with coworkers and managers to ensure quality work in an efficient and appropriate time frame

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Proficiency with interpretation of avionic/electrical wiring diagrams, wire identification, harness fabrication, cables, fittings, circuits and connectors.
• Thorough knowledge of electrical/ electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes.
• Ability to inspect and install digital avionics equipment.
• While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers to handle or feel, talk or hear and have good visual abilities.
• Will often be required to sit, climb or balance and work in close quarters.
• Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment.
• High degree of precision working with minimum tolerances required.
• Must be safety conscious at all times.
• Able to lift or help lift up to 50 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
