Ministry Function
The Receptionist & Gate Attendant supports the ministry of Convoy of Hope by professionally welcoming all guests to our Global Headquarters and ensuring guests are quickly vetted for appropriate entrance to the campus. This position will cover shifts either at the front desk as a receptionist or at our gated entry for vacation time and last-minute time off requests.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities for Receptionist
- Processes all incoming calls to the main switchboard and greets all guests.
- Maintains office supplies area in the storage room and processes/orders office supplies for all departments.
- Is on call when other receptionist is out on vacation or sick.
- Fulfills special projects and other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities for Gated Entry
- Serves as the first point of contact for all individuals entering the Convoy of Hope Global Headquarters (GHQ) campus and ensures guests receive a professional and friendly welcome.
- Notifies front desk greeters of guests coming into the GHQ.
- Provides additional support for the administration team, including but not limited to facilities, front desk, and the Administration Director.
- Communicates with Global Security regarding any concerns noted as guests enter campus grounds.
- Fulfills other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Two or more years of customer service experience is required.
- Displays excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills for positively and professionally representing Convoy of Hope to all guests.
- Demonstrates ability and willingness to work in a team environment and share responsibilities as needed.
- Is a self-starter, motivated, and punctual.
- Possesses ability to make independent decisions regarding guests who should be on campus, after receiving appropriate training.
- Exhibits ability to use a PC/Mac and software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Outlook/Gmail, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Word.
- Attends and actively participates in Convoy of Hope At Home Week meetings and activities as a required responsibility to the organization and fellow team members.
- Serves as an advocate for the ministry, striving to nurture, broaden, and develop financial and other resource opportunities to support and expand organizational and program ministry.
- Positively represents the ministry of Convoy of Hope, including its mission statement and core values, to all outside constituencies.
- As a Christian organization, Convoy of Hope believes it is critical that team members embrace the organization’s religious purposes for which it exists and not only agree with its Statement of Faith but demonstrate it in their lives on an ongoing basis.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities at this time.
This is a part-time, as-need, position that will assist the reception desk and front gate when needed. Hours per shift will vary.
