Position Title: CNC Machinist - R&D/Model Shop
Department: Model Shop
Location: Fenton, MO
Reports To: Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Classification: Hourly - Non-Exempt
Hours: Monday - Thursday 5:00am - 3:00pm
Position Summary:
The primary function of this Machinist position is to work with the Manufacturing Engineering Group to make components for a wide range of unique equipment used in our manufacturing processes as well as prototype parts for new product launch.
Essential Job Duties:
- Program and set-up CNC Mazak lathes
- Ability to make offsets, change and reset tools
- Inspect and ensure that all dimensions are within print specification
- Complete required documentation with accurate information
- Perform daily preventative machine maintenance
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area
Required Education:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Formal Machinist training with certificate and/or previous experience
Required Experience/Skills:
- 3 plus years previous experience with CNC Mazak lathes
- Extensive knowledge of Mazak equipment and Mazatrol programming
- Excellent blueprint reading skills
- Understanding of cutting tools, speeds and feeds, and machining techniques
- Ability to use precision measuring devices
- Understanding of G and M code
- Aptitude to learn pertinent software
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team
