Role Description The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist is a full-time hybrid role based in Washington, DC, with the flexibility to work from home part of the time. The specialist will design and implement M&E frameworks, logic models, and performance indicators to track program outcomes and inform data-driven decision-making. Daily responsibilities include collecting, cleaning, and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data; developing dashboards and reports; and preparing regular performance summaries and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. The role involves providing technical assistance to program teams and government clients on M&E methodologies, tools, and best practices, as well as supporting training sessions to build monitoring and evaluation capacity. The specialist will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate M&E findings into planning, budgeting, and continuous improvement activities.


Qualifications

  • Strong Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) expertise, including design and implementation of frameworks, indicators, and data collection tools.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with experience in statistics, data interpretation, and use of analytical or visualization software (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or statistical packages).
  • Experience with system monitoring, including setting up and tracking performance metrics, dashboards, and monitoring processes for complex programs.
  • Proven ability to provide technical assistance, coaching, and training on M&E concepts and tools to diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights and reports.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as public policy, statistics, economics, social sciences, international development, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience working with U.S. federal government programs or contracts, especially in defense or civilian agency environments, is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a hybrid work setting.
