Industrial Metal Fabrication Welder — GMAW

Imagine clocking in, reviewing the day’s build list, and taking ownership of a complex assembly from layout to final inspection. You translate drawings into reality, control your arc with confidence, and leave a trail of clean welds and complete documentation behind you. If that sounds like your craft, you’ll thrive here.

Your mission

  • Fabricate and assemble metal components to precise specifications using MIG (GMAW) and complementary processes.
  • Set up parts, fixtures, and weld sequences; produce sound welds in multiple positions.
  • Adjust equipment settings—voltage, amperage, gas—to achieve required bead profile and fusion.
  • Keep equipment in top condition through preventive maintenance and prompt repair requests.
  • Verify critical dimensions with micrometers, calipers, fixtures, and gauges; document all results.
  • Lead with safety: wear PPE, follow shop rules, and contribute to a safe, clean work area.
  • Drive quality at the source—do it right the first time—and own the output of your station.
  • Show dependable attendance and time management throughout the shift.

Quality and compliance mindset

Follow established procedures, work instructions, and operational standards. Failing to comply can cause:

  • Customer rejections to increase
  • Internal scrap to rise
  • Shipments to be delayed or late
  • Risk of personal injury
  • Negative environmental outcomes

If you identify nonconforming product, contain it immediately and notify management. This role does not include supervisory responsibilities. While these are the primary duties, related tasks may be assigned as needed, and the description may change without prior notice.

What you bring

  • 1 years of hands-on MIG welding experience or equivalent training
  • Successful completion of CIT weld test
  • Experience with a range of welding equipment and procedures
  • Proficiency with shop tools (saws, squares, calipers, etc.)
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and technical documentation
  • Knowledge of applicable safety standards and consistent PPE use
  • Strong dexterity and meticulous attention to detail
  • AWS certification a plus

Environment and physical demands

You’ll work in a manufacturing environment with loud noise, welding fumes/airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. Some tasks involve chemicals; refer to accessible Safety Data Sheets for guidance. Moderate temperature shifts may occur over an eight-hour day.

  • Regular verbal communication and hearing are required
  • Frequent standing, walking, handling, reaching, climbing/balancing, and stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling
  • Lift/move up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 75 lbs occasionally
  • Close vision, color vision, and focus adjustment are necessary

Accessibility

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
