Richmond, IN Full Time
POSTED ON 8/2/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 11/30/2026

What if your craftsmanship powered our customers’ success?

Picture this: You walk into a clean, well‑organized shop. A new blueprint hits your bench. You map the operation, choose the workholding, set zeros, dial in offsets, and send your program live. The spindle starts, chips curl, gauges confirm—you’ve made another perfect part. As our CNC Manufacturing Machinist, this is your craft.

Your mission

Transform drawings into precision components by planning, programming, setting up, and operating CNC mills and lathes. Uphold quality and safety, keep impeccable records, and maintain the equipment and supplies that keep production moving.

Core responsibilities

  • Study work orders, blueprints, and engineering drawings to plan machining steps.
  • Program controls: establish zeros/references; set tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculate using math, geometry, and trigonometry; prove out programs.
  • Set up machines: install/adjust three‑ and four‑jaw chucks, tooling, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicate vises and tram heads; load stock.
  • Execute operations: turning, facing, drilling, grooving, and other cutting to meet specifications.
  • Inspect and document: measure with micrometers, calipers, fixtures, and gauges; complete production and quality logs.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize: detect malfunctions; adjust/reprogram controls; sharpen/replace tools.
  • Maintain assets: perform preventive maintenance per manufacturer instructions; troubleshoot issues; call for repairs; organize equipment and supplies.

How you succeed here

  • Attendance: Be punctual, adhere to schedules, be prepared to start on time, remain on task to complete duties, and limit unscheduled leave.
  • Quality: Do it right the first time to meet customer requirements.
  • Safety: Wear required PPE and follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Accountability: Own your output and pursue excellence. No supervisory responsibilities.

What you’ll need to bring

  • 2 years of machine shop experience.
  • Effective written and verbal communication with coworkers.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently through completion with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication processes; machining and tooling background; prior manufacturing environment experience.
  • Sharp attention to detail; fast and accurate within short timelines.
  • Strength in planning, scheduling, coordination, and problem solving; analytical mindset.

Process discipline

  • Follow procedures, work instructions, and operational processes.
  • Immediately contain and notify management of nonconforming product.
  • Understand that non‑compliance can result in customer rejections, internal scrap, shipment delays, personal injury, and environmental impact.

Work environment

  • Manufacturing setting with regular exposure to loud noise, fumes/airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
  • May work with or around chemicals; hazards are outlined in accessible Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Moderate temperature changes during an eight‑hour shift.

Physical/vision: talk and hear regularly; stand, walk, handle, reach; climb/balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; frequently lift/move up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 75 lbs; close and color vision with ability to adjust focus.
