Description
The Pastry Cook is responsible for preparing and delivering consistent, high quality baked goods and confections while providing exceptional customer service, presentation, and a clean and safe environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepares pastries on a daily basis, including cookies, cakes, brownies, bars, truffles, icing, frosting, etc. according to established recipes.
- Reviews production schedules to determine variety and quantity of goods to bake, as well as supplies and equipment needed.
- Gathers ingredients and other supplies from main kitchen and/or pantry, as needed.
- Cleans and maintains work areas, utensils and equipment.
- Tends to day-to-day problems and needs concerning equipment and/or ingredients.
- Works with other team members to complete production sheets and other tasks as required.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Maintain pace due to event schedule.
- May be asked to show new team members standard operating procedures.
- Additional duties may be assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have at least six months of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Knowledge of bakery/culinary supplies, equipment and facilities.
- Ability to maintain quality control standards.
- Ability to prepare and bake a variety of pastries and baked goods.
- Knowledge of food preparation and presentation methods, techniques, and quality standards.
- Pastry Certification
- 6 months or more experience in a fast pace kitchen environment
- 6 months or more experience in a bakery
- Able to stand for the entire shift
- Lift up to 30lbs (as needed)
- Work with hands and fingers frequently (crop, cut, stock, label, etc)
