Position Overview
Continental Sales "Lots 4 Less" is seeking a Customer Service Lead who will run the daily cashier and customer service operations of the Retail Store, reporting to the Continental Sales "Lots 4 Less” Store Operations Leader. The Customer Service Lead will lead a team of cashiers, which is up to 30 teammates.
The Customer Service Lead we seek to hire will understand our culture and promote our core values of People First, Dedication, and Team Player. They will also provide coaching, mentoring and development of their team.
Some of the essential duties and responsibilities of the Customer Service Lead are as follows:
- Ensure that each customer receives outstanding customer experience by providing a customer friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer.
- Oversees and authorizes customer returns, exchanges, merchandise credits; assures the completion of all POS transactions and the proper control of all cash according to Company policies and procedures.
- Responsible for assisting in training of new cashiers and cross training of other associates.
- Responsible for all cash office procedures, which includes deposits, reconciliation of tills, change orders.
- Oversees the productivity, breaks and daily scheduling of all cashiers and communicates performance issues to management.
- Opening and Closing responsibilities of the store.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will be an experienced leader with a history of success in retail or grocery management. The Customer Service Lead will possess a high school diploma and 2 years of leadership experience.
- The Customer Service Lead must be a results-oriented individual who always maintains the highest level of customer service.
- They must have the ability to adapt to the ever-changing high-volume retail while working in a cross-functional team environment.
- Must have the capacity to take initiative when problems arise.
- Flexibility to adapt in a variety of situations.
- Ability to lead, delegate and motivate staff.
- Ability to process information/merchandise through computer system and POS register system.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills for dealing cross functionally with peers and management as well as our customers within our community.
- Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
- Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
- Must be able to lift, carry, or move merchandise up to 30 pounds.
- Frequent reaching, bending, and stooping.
- Ability to move around the sales floor and front end as needed.

Location Overview
Continental Sales "Lots 4 Less" is conveniently located adjacent to Chicago’s Midway Airport on Cicero Avenue, one of the most heavily trafficked streets in Chicago.
Pay Rate
Hourly Rate: $17.90 – $25.00 per hour
The pay range listed is the expected compensation for this role. Actual pay will be determined based on relevant experience, skills and skills.
