We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Lathe Setup/Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. Responsibilities
- Set up CNC lathe machines, including installing tooling, fixtures, and workpieces according to detailed blueprints and specifications.
- Program CNC lathes using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to create accurate machining instructions.
- Operate CNC lathe machines safely and efficiently, monitoring operations to ensure optimal performance and quality.
- Conduct routine inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other quality control tools.
- Perform troubleshooting and minor maintenance on CNC equipment to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Collaborate with team members on fabrication, materials handling, assembly line tasks, and tooling adjustments to optimize manufacturing processes.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating CNC lathe machines in a manufacturing or factory environment.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages such as Fanuc or similar controls.
- Familiarity with CAD software like SolidWorks for part design and setup planning.
- Ability to read blueprints accurately and apply GD&T principles effectively.
- Mechanical aptitude with understanding of tooling, fabrication techniques, welding, stamping presses, press brake machines, and materials handling equipment such as forklifts.
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus for understanding automation systems.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and other quality control tools.
- Basic math skills necessary for calculations related to machining tolerances and measurements.
