JOB TITLE:
Staff Accountant
REPORTING TO:
Accounting Supervisor
JOB PURPOSE:
Perform core general accounting functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and close support. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, owning assigned accounts, and supporting continuous improvement across accounting processes.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepare recurring and non‑recurring journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, prepaids, accruals, intangibles, third‑party commissions, insurance, etc.
• Record and review bank transactions.
• Ensure assigned areas of the monthly financial statements accurately reflect period results, including analysis and explanation of account activity.
• Perform month‑over‑month variance analysis on assigned accounts.
• Assist with day‑to‑day, monthly, and year‑end accounting activities, including monthly close and annual audit support.
• Support the Accounting Supervisor with schedule preparation and special projects.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives, including increased use of Excel, automation, and AI‑enabled tools.
• Serve as backup support for accounts payable processing, ensuring timely and accurate invoice entry, payment processing, and vendor communication during peak periods or staff absences.
• Perform other ad hoc accounting projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

· Solid understanding of general accounting principles.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
· 1–2 years of accounting and close‑related experience.
· Experience working in an ERP environment.
· Strong Excel skills, including PivotTables and XLOOKUP / VLOOKUP.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
