What are the responsibilities and job description for the Procurement Manager position at Container Graphics Corp.?
Position Summary:
The Procurement Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of procurement strategies for the organization. These strategies will support the development and maintenance of a reliable supply chain for standardized materials of the appropriate quality for all CGC Branches and customers, both domestic and foreign. This will be accomplished by maintaining and developing new vendor relationships, Acumatica Inventory Records and providing guidance and support to local CGC Branch purchasing teams.
The Procurement Manager is expected to drive Container Graphics CS1 mindset and always represent the company in a positive, energetic, and consistent manner. They will report directly to the Senior VP Engineering.
Essential Functions:
Identify and mitigate potential supply chain risks
Ensure all materials meet federal, state, and local regulations and CGC requirements
Ensure SDSs are received, updated, and filed for all materials and provided to customers as required
Maintain accurate Acumatica INV ID records
Approve and create new INV IDs as needed
Manage Acumatica Reorder Points
Drive purchased material standardization and terminology across all Branches
Own the vendor and material approval process
Monitor and address vendor performance utilizing on-time and complete, as well as other, statistical measures
Evaluate vendor pricing changes and surcharges, the impact on the organization and alternatives
Manage freight carrier relationships and agreements
Identify total cost savings opportunities and provide recommendations to senior management
Assist with inventory control / counts
Follow all CGC safety procedures
Perform all other related duties as assigned
Knowledge / Skills Requirements:
Knowledge and experience developing internal systems
Skilled in negotiations with supply chain partners
Highly detail oriented
Outstanding verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to read and interpret technical and legal documents
Knowledge of CGC production materials and supplies
Ability to solve complex problems
Skilled in root cause analysis
Proficient using ERP systems (Acumatica) and Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, etc....)
Skilled in mathematical subjects including but not limited to algebra, geometry, and statistics
Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed
Ability to set team objectives, manage times and meet deadlines
Ability to exercise good judgement and decision making
Ability to always maintain a professional image
Physical Requirements:
• Strength and mobility to perform the duties described above, i.e., standing, moving, lifting, bending, reaching,
pushing, pulling
• Lift up to 65 pounds safely
Salary : $68,000 - $82,000
