Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals with diverse needs. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and mobility support.
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, administering medication, and reporting changes to healthcare teams in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support residents during medical procedures using appropriate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning tailored to individual dietary needs, including Alzheimer's and dementia-specific diets.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety within the residence by performing regular cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols.
- Document care plans, patient progress, and incident reports accurately in compliance with healthcare standards.
- Assist with transportation for appointments or community activities using safe client transportation methods.
Experience
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable but not required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of patient care practices including medication administration, vital signs monitoring, CPR/First Aid certification.
- Familiarity with dementia care, memory care strategies, hospice care principles, and geriatrics enhances your ability to provide specialized support.
- Strong background in caregiving roles that involve assisting with ADLs and personal care assistance within home & community settings.
- Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Pay: From $15.50 per hour
