Overview

Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with care plans and dietary restrictions, ensuring proper food safety and sanitation standards are maintained.
- Support residents during recreational activities, social outings, and community engagement to promote independence and social well-being.
- Administer medications and assist with medical appointments under the supervision of nursing staff or healthcare professionals.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment by performing regular cleaning tasks aligned with health regulations.
- Follow established care plans tailored to individual needs, including dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, autism support, or hospice care when applicable.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, family members, and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive resident care.
Experience
Candidates should demonstrate prior experience working in environments such as group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings. Experience working specifically with individuals with developmental disabilities or aging-related conditions is highly valued. Additional qualifications include:
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and patient monitoring procedures.
- Certification in first aid and CPR; experience with emergency response protocols is preferred.
- Familiarity with medication administration processes while adhering to HIPAA confidentiality standards.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for resident transfers or equipment handling.
- Experience in developing or following individualized care plans that promote resident independence and well-being.
