About the Role
This organization is seeking an experienced IT Asset and Configuration Manager to take ownership of its enterprise-wide IT asset management and configuration management programs. In this highly visible role, you will be responsible for governing the full lifecycle of hardware, software, and technology assets, ensuring regulatory compliance, financial optimization, and operational stability across the environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain policies, standards, procedures, and governance controls aligned to industry best practices such as ISO 19770
- Own CMDB governance, data integrity, and the configuration item lifecycle process
- Maintain accurate asset inventory and ownership assignments across the enterprise
- Lead end-to-end lifecycle management for IT hardware and software assets
- Establish and enforce standardized onboarding processes for new applications and technologies
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of metadata captured in the CMDB, including ownership, environment, dependencies, and data sensitivity
- Oversee formal offboarding and decommissioning processes, including removal of assets from the CMDB, infrastructure retirement, and data disposal and destruction
- Establish proactive end-of-life reporting and planning for hardware and software refresh and upgrade cycles
- Coordinate monthly EOL tracking and remediation sessions to capture and monitor ongoing progress
- Build and maintain KPI dashboards for the overall asset lifecycle program
- Ensure automated discovery and reconciliation processes are implemented and actively monitored
- Conduct regular data quality reviews and drive remediation activities
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 7 years of experience in IT asset management or configuration management
- Minimum 2 years of experience leading enterprise ITAM or CMDB programs
- Familiarity with ITSM platforms
- Strong understanding of ITIL principles
- Strong knowledge of hardware lifecycle management, software licensing models, and IT governance frameworks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong planning skills with high attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Experience working in a regulated industry such as financial services
- Familiarity with ISO 19770 standards
- Demonstrated ability to build governance programs from the ground up
- Comfort working cross-functionally and influencing stakeholders without direct authority
- Experience developing and presenting executive-level reporting dashboards
