IT Project Manager – Data Governance

$45 to $55 per hour contract

Summary

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead enterprise technology initiatives with a strong focus on master data management and data governance programs. This role will coordinate cross-functional projects involving data quality, governance frameworks, business systems, and enterprise applications while ensuring scalable, secure, and well-governed data solutions that align with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate enterprise IT projects focused on master data management, data governance, business systems, and enterprise applications.
• Manage full project lifecycles including planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource coordination, execution, and delivery.
• Partner with business and technical stakeholders to define data governance standards, data ownership processes, and quality initiatives.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including IT, data analysts, business users, vendors, and leadership stakeholders.
• Track project milestones, dependencies, risks, and deliverables while ensuring projects remain on schedule and within scope.
• Facilitate Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid project methodologies depending on project requirements.
• Support initiatives related to data quality, metadata management, governance policies, and master data standardization.
• Conduct stakeholder meetings and provide executive-level status reporting and communication.
• Ensure projects comply with security, governance, regulatory, and organizational standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, data accuracy, and governance maturity.

Requirements

• 2 years of IT project management experience supporting enterprise technology or data-focused initiatives.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• PMP, CAPM, Agile, Scrum, or equivalent project management certification required.
• Strong understanding of master data management, data governance principles, and enterprise data processes.
• Experience managing cross-functional technology or data governance projects.
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Bonus Skills

• Experience supporting enterprise master data management (MDM) initiatives.
• Familiarity with data governance frameworks, compliance requirements, and data quality tools.
• Experience with ERP, CRM, or enterprise data platforms.
• Knowledge of reporting, analytics, and business intelligence environments.
