Job Summary
Aero Construction is looking for a long-term, experienced Safety Coordinator to handle day to day safety operations of a midsized earthwork and underground utilities Construction Company.
In this vital role, you will develop, implement, and oversee safety programs that ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Your proactive approach will foster a culture of safety, mitigate risks, and promote occupational health on construction sites. Responsibilities:
- Be a leader and role model for safety
- Working with supervisors and employees to develop and maintain safe work behaviors and practices
- Coordinate and investigation of auto accidents, submitting claims and working with clients
- Ensure safety polices and producers are followed by all personnel in compliance with company, State and Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration rules and regulations.
- Develop and conduct weekly safety meetings for field supervisors, truck drivers, and shop crew
- Develop and conduct other communications and training programs which will increase safety practices and promote safety consciousness as well as comply with state and federal laws
- Motoring and supervising yard clean up
- Monthly inspections for DOE
- Working with a 2nd party company on the yard clean up and water treatment program
- Purchasing safety supplies for jobsites and yard
- Overseeing annual OHSA Posting, First Aid and CPR training, MSHA training, Fork Lift Training and other relatable trainings
- Oversee DOT regulations and compliance
- Conduct regular site inspections, hazard assessments, and risk management evaluations to identify potential safety issues before they escalate.
- Coordinate safety training sessions for construction teams, emphasizing compliance management, OSHA requirements, and best practices in occupational health.
- Monitor construction site activities to ensure adherence to safety policies, including proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and safe work procedures.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, or near-misses thoroughly; prepare detailed reports; and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Manage documentation related to workers' compensation claims, OSHA compliance records, and LNI
Experience
- 3 years of proven experience in construction site safety coordination or a similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, risk management strategies, and occupational health principles.
- Experience managing workers' compensation processes and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal safety laws.
Pay: $81,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
