Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Second Shift Welder to join our dynamic fabrication team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse metal fabrication projects, utilizing advanced welding techniques and mechanical knowledge. As a key member of our manufacturing operation, you will be responsible for producing high-quality welded components, interpreting technical drawings, and ensuring all work adheres to safety and industry standards. Second shift is 4:30pm-3:00am.

Duties

  • Perform welding operations using various techniques including FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) on different metal materials such as sheet metal, pipe, and structural components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints to accurately fabricate and assemble parts according to specifications.
  • Measure materials precisely using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure accurate fabrication and fitting.
  • Operate power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, rigging equipment, and other fabrication machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Execute metal fabrication tasks including cutting, welding, grinding, soldering, pipe threading, ductwork assembly, and sheet metal fabrication in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards and ASME codes & standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering strictly to safety protocols; conduct routine inspections of tools and equipment such as forklifts and machining devices.
  • Collaborate with team members on construction site projects or in the fabrication shop to meet project deadlines while ensuring quality control.

Skills

  • Extensive construction site experience with a strong understanding of safety procedures and protocols.
  • Proficiency in various welding techniques including FCAW, MIG welding, TIG welding, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and schematics for mechanical fabrication projects.
  • Skilled in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, shop math calculations, and schematic reading for precise fabrication work.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to metal materials, sheet metal fabrication, pipe threading, rigging, machining processes, and assembly techniques.
  • Experience with construction tools such as hand tools, power tools, press brake machines, plasma cutters, soldering equipment, and forklift operation.
  • Familiarity with safety standards including AWS (American Welding Society) guidelines and ASME codes & standards; committed to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Strong mechanical blueprint interpretation skills combined with basic math proficiency for accurate measurement and fabrication tasks.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately while working within strict tolerances; experience in fabricating ductwork or structural components is a plus.

Pay: $24.92 - $30.02 per hour
