Automation Controls Supervisor

Marvin is seeking an Automation Controls Supervisor to lead a team responsible for designing, programming, and maintaining automation systems that power our manufacturing operations. In this role, you will oversee PLC and HMI development, troubleshoot production equipment, and drive continuous improvement in safety, reliability, and efficiency. You'll partner with engineering, maintenance, and operations to implement new controls solutions, standardize platforms, and support capital projects. As a hands-on leader, you'll mentor technicians, manage priorities, and help shape the long-term automation strategy in a people-first, safety-focused culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of controls engineers and technicians supporting manufacturing operations.
• Design, program, and maintain PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for production equipment and lines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve controls-related downtime issues to improve equipment reliability.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations on automation projects and upgrades.
• Implement and standardize controls architectures, documentation, and best practices across facilities.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and support risk assessments for automated equipment.
• Manage automation project scope, timelines, and resources to meet production goals.
• Coordinate vendor support, integration, and commissioning of new automated systems.
• Maintain accurate documentation, schematics, and change control for controls systems.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities in throughput, quality, and safety through automation.
