Task Order Project Manager
**Future Opportunity**
CSEngineering is seeking a Task Order Project Manager (SAFe Release Train Engineer) to support a high-priority defense agency program. The selected candidate will serve as the project manager for a large, complex task order (or group of related task orders) and will operate under the guidance of the Program Manager to ensure timely, on-budget delivery of technical solutions across enterprise-wide IT systems, business services, and document services programs.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the project manager for large, complex task orders affecting major IT systems, assisting the Program Manager in working with the Government Contracting Officer (CO), task order-level Task Order Managers, government management personnel, and customer agency representatives.
- Maintain overall responsibility for the management of specific task order(s), ensuring that technical solutions and schedules are implemented in a timely manner in alignment with government requirements.
- Lead and facilitate Program Increment (PI) Planning sessions for trains of 50 personnel, coordinating cross-functional teams to achieve unified delivery goals.
- Manage value stream coordination across functional boundaries, ensuring alignment between business operations, technical teams, and program leadership.
- Deliver metrics-driven reporting and status updates to senior leadership, providing actionable insights on program health, risks, and delivery progress.
- Support integration with enterprise platforms including ServiceNow and Google Workspace to streamline program operations and reporting.
- Apply deep knowledge of Agile frameworks (SAFe, ICAgile) to guide teams through iterative delivery, continuous improvement, and Agile Release Train (ART) operations.
- Coordinate business operations across the task order lifecycle, managing scope, schedule, cost, and quality in compliance with DoD standards.
- Collaborate with government stakeholders, program leadership, and development teams to ensure seamless solution delivery and contract performance.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Security Clearance: IT-II security clearance OR NACLC
- Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree, OR four (4) additional years of related experience in task order project management and/or agile project management in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum five (5) years of project management or related experience with progressively higher responsibility in the public and/or private sector in IT and/or consulting fields.
- Minimum five (5) years of leadership experience with progressively higher responsibility in IT/consulting fields; candidates with 10 years of relevant PM experience may substitute under the alternate experience pathway.
- Five (5) or more years of experience coordinating business operations.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating PI Planning for trains of 50 or more personnel.
- Proven experience managing value stream coordination across functional and organizational boundaries.
- Experience delivering metrics-driven reporting to senior leadership in government or DoD environments.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise platform integration, including ServiceNow and Google Workspace.
- Deep understanding and practical application of Agile frameworks for business and IT processes.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or an equivalent nationally recognized project management certification.
- SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification OR equivalent ICAgile certification (required for this role).
Location: Washington, DC (NCR) with potential travel to other government sites as required.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
- DoD 8570 IAT Level I compliance - CompTIA Security CE (most commonly held) or equivalent qualifying certification (CompTIA A , Network , SSCP).
- Prior experience supporting government or DoD IT programs.
- Familiarity with DCSO program management frameworks and DoD acquisition processes.
