Job Responsibilities
- Provide senior-level architectural and/or engineering oversight for design and construction projects within an active medical facility environment
- Ensure full compliance with VA Design Manuals, Technical Information Library (TIL), and VA specifications
- Review and interpret construction contract documents, including front-end documents, technical specifications, and drawings
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local authorities to ensure regulatory and jurisdictional compliance
- Support budgeting, scheduling, and project planning activities to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
- Provide technical guidance related to engineering services, building codes, and construction best practices
- Supervise, manage, and mentor personnel with diverse technical skill sets
- Support coordination among stakeholders, contractors, and government representatives to ensure project success
- Licensed Professional Architect or Professional Engineer (PE)
- Bachelor of Architecture from an accredited institution or Bachelor of Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Minimum 10 years of combined design and construction experience within active medical facilities
- Demonstrated experience working on VA Medical Center projects.
- Strong working knowledge of VA Design Manuals, Specifications, and TIL.
- Proven ability to quickly understand and apply state and federal jurisdictional requirements
- In-depth understanding of construction contract documents, drawings, and specifications
- Strong knowledge of engineering services, building codes, budgeting, and scheduling
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience managing multidisciplinary teams
- Must be a United States Citizen
