Accounting Manager

Constellation Search Group is looking for an Accounting Manager for a full-time direct hire position. This role involves collaborating within the accounting team to support financial processes in a fast-paced environment. The Accounting Manager will analyze financial activities, ensure compliance with industry standards, and prepare comprehensive reports. This position is located in Milwaukee and contributes to the strategic goals and growth of the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze processes and propose improvements to maximize efficiencies, accuracy, and consistency.
• Partner with General Managers to manage all budgeting, accounting, financial statements, and variance analyses for each assigned market.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, company procedures, and all local management agreements and leases.
• Prepare and post full month-end close cycle journal entries.
• Reconcile bank and merchant accounts, balance sheets, external reports, and subledgers to the general ledger.
• Prepare client monthly management reports and internal financial statements.
• Calculate monthly distributions for lot owners and clients and prepare monthly sales and use tax returns.
• Participate in internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in accounting is required, CPA certification is preferred.
• Five to seven years of experience managing accounting activities in a high-volume, point of sales, geographically distributed business environment (e.g., retail).
• Public accounting experience and experience with NetSuite is desired.
• Proficient with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Energetic and self-motivated individuals who are looking to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial organization.
• Experience reading, understanding, and applying contracts to accounting work.
• Desire to create innovative solutions, manage projects, and design processes.
