Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Edible Cook to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and packaging a variety of edible products from drinks to sorbet. This position offers an opportunity to showcase your food preparation skills in a fast-paced environment dedicated to excellence in food production. Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook a wide range of edible products following established recipes and procedures
- Ensure all food handling and preparation complies with food safety standards
- Operate kitchen equipment and machinery safely, including mixers, ovens, and other food processing tools
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the workspace in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting, material handling, and knife skills with precision and safety protocol adherence
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies; assist in stock rotation and storage management
- Follow manufacturing standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent quality in food production
- Use basic math skills for portioning, measuring ingredients accurately, and adjusting recipes as needed
- Adhere to all safety standards in production environments; utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately
Experience
- Proven experience in food preparation
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and food handling practices
- Familiarity with sanitation protocols
- Mechanical knowledge related to kitchen equipment operation and troubleshooting is highly desirable
- Experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts is a plus but not required; training can be provided
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills; capable of following detailed instructions accurately
- Basic math proficiency for recipe adjustments and portion control
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
