What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Manager position at Conspicuous?
Job Title: Finance Systems Product Owner - $165K benefits
Location: Stamford, CT (Local Candidates Preferred)
Job Type: Full-Time | On-Site / Hybrid
Industry: Financial Technology / Enterprise Systems
Summary
An established and fast-scaling organization is seeking a Finance Systems Product Owner to lead digital transformation efforts across its finance operations. Sitting at the intersection of finance and technology, this role is critical to modernizing AR/AP workflows, enabling scalable automation, and delivering measurable ROI through internal tooling and systems development.
Why This Role Matters
Historically, systems ownership within finance has lacked integration with broader product and technology strategy. This role is designed to change that—driving better alignment between finance operations and the tools that support them. The successful candidate will bridge accounting, technology, and product disciplines to create smarter, automated solutions that eliminate inefficiencies and support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and own the roadmap for finance systems initiatives, prioritizing high-impact, scalable solutions.
- Deliver a reimagined commercial billing system with the first cohort (~50% of customers) migrated within 12 months.
- Lead automation of manual AP processes and check processing, reducing error-prone workflows and manual touchpoints.
- Partner closely with Accounting, Product, and Technology stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into actionable, productized outcomes.
- Monitor and communicate progress, priorities, and risks to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven track record of building internal tools and custom automations—not just implementing out-of-the-box software.
- Deep familiarity with AR/AP workflows and experience collaborating directly with finance teams.
- Strong technical fluency in data structures, SQL, and data visualization tools (Power BI or Tableau).
- Backgrounds in product/technical roles at fintech, ERP, or financial platforms such as Workday, Intacct, Rocket Money, or Monarch are highly relevant.
- Understanding of AI-assisted workflows or intelligent automation is a plus.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a nice-to-have, but not required.
